The assignment began by looking at the symbol system created for the National Zoo in Washington D.C. I was then tasked with picking an animal and creating a recognizable symbol. I chose a fennec fox because of their distinctive big ears. After the symbol was created, I designed a process book with information on zoos, pictograms, the National Zoo system, my process for creating the symbol, and the integration of my symbol into the system. I chose to create a tiered book with each page getting longer creating a tab for each page.
